Hello. I’ve been thinking of doing a new Dead By Daylight cosplay of “The Plague” (She’s the newest Killer that recently came out) But I’m concerned on how I would keep my boobers from popping out the side of her outfit (She has tasteful sideboob going on and I don’t want accidents with my cosplay if ya know what I mean :S) How would one go about addressing this problem?

Hello there!

For sideboob, you have quite a few options to stay modest.

The first thing I would do is ensure that your nipples stay covered. In a design like this, you can use a stick-on silicone bra, breast lift tape, make a tape bra for yourself (be sure to use a skin-safe tape and to cover your nipples with something not sticky before applying the tape), or simply use pasties if you don’t need much support. This will ensure that if you do have a mishap with the dress, you will still be fully covered, and some of these options give some amount of support for large or heavy breasts.

The next thing would be to make sure that the costume itself doesn’t slip out of place. One option for this would be to simply tape the side of the dress to your breast, using a skin-safe double-sided tape. This is often sold at fabric stores and drug stores, though I would recommend a tape from a beauty store meant to hold lacefront wigs and toupees in place, since the tack tends to be stronger. Place the tape along the side of the dress, peel off the backing, and then stick to your breast.

READ  Quick question! I’m 100% new to cosplay and I wanted to ask how to go about braking up a cosplay to know what to start on and know what materials to get! (The cosplay I want to do is the visual rework Skye from Paladins) anything helps thank you in advance!

If you can’t use the tape method for any reason or if you want a more solid method of holding the dress in place, you can also use a stretch illusion mesh the same color as your skin (or your body paint, if doing the SFX makeup) to attach the front and back sides of the dress together under your arm. If you leave the top edge raw and only sew it in that U shape on the side of the chest, creating what would be a regular-sized armhole, the raw edge will mostly blend into your skin when your arm is raised, and be covered by your arm when not.

You can also create a small strap of the same material (with raw edges, to blend better) that attaches from the side of the dress near the breast to the back of the dress, crossing horizontally through the armpit. This will be a bit less secure, but will also hide well, and will show your actual skin for most of the open side. Clear elastic could also be used as a strap in a similar fashion.

I hope that helps! Good luck :]
